Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides compassionate community supports to individuals with high physical, behavioral, and medical needs to help them engage in daily living, social activities, and community participation. The DSP assists with activities of daily living, personal care, health monitoring, medication administration, transportation, and coordination of higher quality of life experiences, while supporting person-centered planning and helping individuals achieve their goals. The role requires driving with a valid license, willingness to facilitate social connections, and training in QMAP, CPR, and Vital Signs (training provided). Responsibilities include listening to individuals, supporting meals and routines, assisting with relationships and communications, and collaborating with coworkers to maintain a positive and safe program environment.
Required Qualifications
- Over 21 for driving purposes and must have a valid driver's license
- Background check clearance
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 50 lbs frequently
- Ability to squat, reach overhead, forward and to the side, and balance for transfers
- QMAP Qualification, CPR, and Vital Signs training provided by Strive
