Job Summary
Provide direct support, hands-on instruction, and positive direction to youth ages 12-21 with intellectual/developmental disabilities, ensuring their health, safety, and personal goals are met. Assist with activities of daily living including dressing, bathing, grooming, and toileting, while preparing meals and performing light housekeeping. Offer mobility and transfer assistance using mechanical lifts and implement positive behavior supports to de-escalate challenging behaviors. Maintain a safe environment by documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members. Requires a valid driver's license for transporting persons served and completion of three weeks of paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must have a high school diploma, transcript, or GED
- 6 months of professional work experience supporting vulnerable populations required
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to attend three weeks of paid training Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
