Job Summary
Direct Support Professionals (DSP) provide essential assistance to youth in a residential treatment center. Responsibilities include direct care, transportation, life skills instruction, and medication dispensing. Candidates must maintain compliance with safety standards, document individual behaviors, and participate in treatment teams. Legibility in writing, basic computer skills, and a valid driver's license are required. Physical capability to lift, stand, and respond to individual needs is necessary, along with TCI certification.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development
- Able to write legibly
- Must have a valid NYS driver's license
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to perform restraints and maintain TCI certification
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree preferred
- Basic computer literacy
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population
- Must be able to stand and run for moderate periods of time
- Ability to be mobile in a two-story living unit
