Job Summary
Provide daily instruction and assistance for individuals with intellectual disabilities, including meal planning, medication administration, personal hygiene, and transportation. Manage personal appointments, home maintenance, and leisure activities while ensuring dietary guidelines and safety protocols are followed. Complete shift documentation for behavior plans, incident reports, and financial records, maintaining confidentiality and reporting observations to the manager. Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and respond appropriately as needed, providing coverage as requested. Maintain positive relationships with families and community providers while adhering to all regulatory certifications and training requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Current driver's license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to bend, push, pull and lift
- Prolonged periods of standing, sitting, walking
- Strong customer service orientation
- Intermediate technology and computer ability
- Demonstrate knowledge of emergency procedures and respond appropriately as needed
- Must be able to effectively work with or without direct supervision
- Must be able to work cooperatively within a team setting
- Must be able to handle crisis situations calmly and professionally
- Must be able to interact with others in a courteous and professional manner
- Must be able to adapt to the flexible nature of the job
