Job Summary
Provide direct support, assistance, and instruction to adults with disabilities or mental health needs to facilitate personal growth and independence. Assist with physical care tasks including hygiene, feeding, toileting, and transfers while building positive relationships with individuals and their families. Work part-time or full-time weekend shifts between Friday PM and Sunday PM, offering respite care or supported community living support across the state.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to build and maintain positive and supportive relationships with individuals with disabilities and members or their family
- Must have interpersonal sensitivity
- Must have strong rapport building skills
- Must be able to assist with physical cares (hygiene, diaper/brief changes, feeding, toileting, transfers)
- Must reflect a positive and willing attitude
- Must be available for shifts between Friday PM and Sunday PM
- Must be available for Saturday and Sunday double shifts
- Must be available for Friday & Sunday 2nd shift (2:30-10:30pm)
- Must be available for double shift on Saturday (6:30-10:30pm)
- Must be able to work part-time (16 hours/week & 32 hours/week) & full-time
- Must be able to work in Des Moines
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Supported Community Living (SCL)
- Experience working with people with disabilities
