Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at vocational work sites by maintaining consistent engagement, fostering self-advocacy, and providing person-centered supports for daily living, social connections, and recreational participation. Deliver positive interactions, teach life skills, and assist with personal hygiene and medical needs including medication administration. Intervene in aggressive situations, provide physical support for mobility and hygiene tasks, and utilize Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions. Provide transportation to and from work and community activities, ensuring a reliable vehicle is maintained for every shift. Create safe environments, conduct accurate shift documentation, and uphold rights while encouraging community inclusion and independent living.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to support a person to and from a shower
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to administer medication
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to create safe environments
- Must be able to maintain consistent engagement with people
- Must be able to support people in understanding and exercising their rights
