Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at vocational work sites by maintaining consistent engagement, facilitating self-advocacy, and providing person-centered support for daily living skills. Encourage positive interactions, improve social connections, and assist with transportation, hygiene, and medication administration while utilizing Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions. Teach skills to enhance life quality and encourage participation in groups aligned with personal interests. Provide accurate shift documentation and intervene safely in physically demanding situations, including lifting and transport. Requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable vehicle for all shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to support a person to and from a shower
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to administer medication
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation for the support provided during every shift
- Must be able to provide documentation at the end of each shift
