Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities during vocational work days by maintaining consistent engagement, creating safe environments, and providing accurate shift documentation. Deliver person-centered supports that encourage self-advocacy, facilitate positive social interactions, and assist with personal hygiene and medication administration. Provide transportation to and from work sites and community activities, utilizing Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions. Maintain a reliable vehicle for all shifts as transportation is an essential function. This role requires a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and successful completion of background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to support a person to and from a shower
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to administer medication
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to create safe environments
- Must be able to maintain consistent engagement with people
- Must be able to support people in understanding and exercising their rights
- Must be able to encourage people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacy
