Job Summary
Implement outlined Habilitation and Behavioral Support plans while documenting daily data collection for NY OPWDD services. Assist individuals with personal care, community activities, and transportation using agency vehicles. Administer prescribed medications after completing the AMAP course and maintain certification. Maintain a safe, clean environment by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring the residence is sanitized. Intervene and address problems as they occur, reporting all incidents timely. Participate in scheduled staff meetings and complete all required training under the SPDD Training Policy. Remain awake and alert throughout the assigned shift.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver's license
- Completion of State and Agency mandated training
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Represent yourself and the Agency in a professional and courteous manner
- Know, understand, and continually practice the Agency's Standards of Conduct
- Must be able to use a computer and able to learn software programs
- Must be able to operate a fax, copier, scan, and other office equipment
- Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
- Must be able to write in the English language using correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc.
- Must have a valid Driver's License and be willing to drive agency vehicles
- Must be able to lift 0-25 lbs. (frequently), 25-50 lbs. (occasionally), and over 50 lbs. (rarely)
- Must be able to push/pull 0-25 lbs. of force (frequently), 26-45 lbs. force (occasionally), and over 45 lbs. (rarely)
- Must be able to sit 50-60% of the working day
- Must be able to stand 10-20% of the working day
- Must be able to walk 10-20% of the working day
- Must be able to occasionally stoop
- Must be able to occasionally kneel
- Must be able to occasionally crouch
- Must be able to remain awake and alert during the entirety of the each assigned shift
