Job Summary

Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by following their Individual Support Plans and assisting with daily living activities, medication administration, and meal preparation. Document progress through General Event Reports and Therap logs, conduct quarterly fire drills, and ensure household safety and sanitation standards are met. Safeguard funds, maintain accurate ledgers, and communicate critical updates regarding behavioral concerns or appointments during shift changes. Navigate escalated situations while modeling person-centered approaches that encourage independence and community engagement. Work as part of a team to deliver quality services, adhering to all Oregon Administrative Rules and agency policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Eligibility for Employment
  • Ability to pass an initial criminal history check from the Department of Human Services Criminal Records Unit and recheck every 2 years thereafter
  • Be a citizen of the United States or legally able to work in the United States
  • Must be at least eighteen years old
  • Hold a current driving license
  • Hold insurance
  • Hold a good driving record
  • Ability to complete required training
  • Ability to complete annual training
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to perform tasks outlined in this description

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Human Development
  • Associate's Degree in Psychology
  • Associate's Degree in related field
  • 1 year of experience working as a care provider
  • 1 year of experience in otherwise related role
  • Experience working with and/or supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
