Job Summary
Supervise all Direct Support Professionals during shifts by organizing duties, delegating tasks, scheduling breaks, and making decisions on unanticipated occurrences. Provide on-site training, assist residents with personal care, administer medications, and ensure staffing ratios are met while following crisis management plans. Deliver individualized programming, document care contemporaneously, and represent Citizen Advocates with families and the community. Work a full-time schedule in a 24-hour, 7-day operation with variable hours, traveling as needed for hospital visits up to Albany, NY. Maintain required certifications and adhere to universal precautions and confidentiality protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years' experience working with people with developmental disabilities/mental health needs
- Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day
- Must be able to provide personal care to clients
- Must be able to work in stressful situations
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- Must be able to follow behaviors plans and crisis management plans as written
- Must be able to follow program policy and procedure manual as written
- Must be able to protect client confidentiality
- Must be able to demonstrate cultural beliefs in daily interactions
- Must be able to demonstrate Citizen Advocates cultural beliefs
- Must be able to participate in required trainings
- Must be able to Professionally represent Citizen Advocates, Inc. with families, other organizations and the community
- Must be able to Attend appropriate training in accordance with the agency's personnel policies and maintain required certifications
