Job Summary
Provide 1:1 support for an individual with a developmental disability, assisting with independent living skills, community integration, social development, and daily activities. Deliver behavioral support and personal care while promoting the individual's overall health, safety, and independence. Log daily time, mileage, and service documentation electronically with attention to detail. Work Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Lyncourt area in Syracuse, NY. Requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid driver's license and auto insurance if required for the job assigned
- Must demonstrate sound decision-making skills
- Must demonstrate understanding for the Agency mission
- Must demonstrate patience and compassion
- Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and have the ability to write correspondence
- Must have basic reasoning skills including the ability to analyze and problem solve
- Must be able to tolerate a moderate noise level in the work environment and must be able to handle distractions
- Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including sitting, standing, using hands to reach, walk, push, or lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have a valid email address
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals who have similar support needs
- previous experience working 1:1 in a related service environment
- Knowledge of disability related issues
- GED or High School Diploma
- Applicable job experience
