Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides support, assistance and supervision to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to enable them to live valued lives in the community. Responsibilities include identifying and reporting suspected abuse or rights violations; implementing and documenting training, behavior, and support plans; ensuring health, safety and well-being; creating a positive environment that promotes independence and choice; following positioning schedules and using equipment/assistive devices; assisting with diet, texture, and equipment needs; maintaining homes, outside areas and vehicles; and completing other duties as assigned. Must comply with pre-employment screenings and work as a mandated reporter; Sunrise emphasizes growth, inclusion and equal opportunity across multiple states.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
- Must possess a valid Driver's License with all necessary endorsements and have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience.
- Must possess basic computer skills
- Minimum one year of experience working in the human service field if required by work location
- High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location
