Job Summary
Provide medical, health, safety, and training needs for participants, including assistance with grooming, bathing, feeding, toileting, transferring, and medication administration at 90%–95% accuracy. Maintain a clean environment, ensure nutritional needs through grocery shopping and diet adherence, and facilitate community involvement activities while documenting outcomes in daily records. Complete emergency drills monthly, administer prescribed medications, and submit paperwork by deadlines. Work 24-hour shifts with a consistent attendance record, adhering to Agency policies and regulatory standards for training and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work 24-hour shifts
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Mental and emotional stability
- Must consistently exhibit mental and emotional stability in order to understand and perform the essential functions on the job
- Category II Blood Borne Disease Exposure Category
- Participates in therapeutic intervention which involves some personal risk when dealing with a physically aggressive client
- Lifting: May participate in lifting or transferring clients
- Back supports are provided and are mandatory to wear at all times while lifting
- Medication Administration/Seizure Training class prior to independent functioning
- College for Direct Supports on-line curriculum phase I before independent functioning
- College for Direct Supports on-line curriculum phase II during first 6 months of employment
Desired Qualifications
- prefer one (1) year of experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a residential setting
