Job Summary
Direct Support Professionals provide on-site coordination of active treatment in Adult Foster Care or Community Living Services homes or private residences, assisting individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or behavioral disabilities. Responsibilities include helping clients with cooking, cleaning, community integration, health, and personal care. Training is provided, and benefits include Blue Cross Blue Shield health/dental/vision, a 403(b) with employer match, life insurance, disability, paid time off, paid training, and advancement opportunities. Must be at least 18, have driving qualifications, pass a comprehensive background check, and be able to provide transportation. The role is offered as Full-Time with Part-Time and Emergency Relief options. Spectrum Community Services is a non-profit serving individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, with locations in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to provide two work references demonstrating good performance and attendance
- Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Must have reliable and ongoing transportation
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting, medical clearance (TB test, drug screen & physical exam), and MILTC screening
