Job Summary
Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide essential direct care services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Key responsibilities include assisting with daily living skills, personal care, crisis intervention, development of treatment plans, and ensuring the health and safety of those supported. Applicants should possess interpersonal skills and a willingness to support individuals with compassion. A high school diploma or GED is preferred along with a valid NYS driver’s license. This role offers full-time or part-time options with a competitive compensation range of $18.00 to $19.05 per hour based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Valid NYS Driver’s License required
- Good written and verbal communication
- Basic computer knowledge
- Tuberculosis test and background check mandatory
Desired Qualifications
- Work or life experience in the I/DD field is a plus for DSP 1 positions
- At least 2 years’ work experience in the I/DD field for DSP 2 positions
