Job Summary
Assist residents with personal hygiene, feeding, and medical appointments while maintaining facility cleanliness and adhering to prescribed diets. Implement individualized programs and recreational activities to support independence and life goals. Administer medications and procedures if AMAP certified, ensuring safety through constant supervision and adaptive equipment. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident progress and provide training to new staff on direct care skills. Purchase personal items and fulfill daily living needs as requested. Maintain a valid NYS driver's license and meet physical requirements for lifting and transferring participants.
Required Qualifications
- NYS driver's license
- Ability to understand written and oral directives/information
- Physical aspects including lifting and transferring of an adult/child participant
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Six (6) months experience working with DDI population
- AMAP certified
