Job Summary
Direct Support Professional to provide direct support in residential/community settings for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, delivering socialization, health maintenance, medication administration, and activities of daily living per individual plans. Responsibilities include documentation, confidentiality, budgeting for purchases, building healthy relationships, reporting incidents, assisting with medical appointments, driving/transportation as needed, and maintaining a safe, supportive environment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), 18+ years old, valid driver's license, and completion of mandated trainings; six months of experience in human services preferred; works in Marion or Abingdon, VA locations; in-person work with non-exempt, full-time or part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- All state-required training(s) and certification(s) completed in mandated timeframes
- Shall be at least 18 years of age
- Shall be at least 18 years of age
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- Maintain valid driver’s license, meet all insurance requirements, and be approved by management to be a driver for the company
- Drug testing prior to employment; random and for cause/suspicion as applicable
- Criminal background checks; Central Registry and CARI checks as required
