Job Summary
Support individuals with developmental disabilities in developing essential life skills, including health, hygiene, and independent living tasks. Assist with daily routines per the Medicaid Waiver Person-Centered Service Plan and foster a positive environment at home and in the community. Help individuals engage with the community through activities like shopping, social events, and appointments, while providing safe transportation using your personal vehicle. Maintain records of consumer expenses, document progress, and offer input during annual service planning meetings. Complete required training in CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and in-service sessions, then submit weekly documentation and timesheets on time. This safety-sensitive role requires standing, lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally, and driving in various weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- at least one year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency
- two years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid Arkansas driver's license
- proof of auto liability insurance
- Background Check
- Drug Screening
- Ability to effectively interact with individuals
- Ability to understand written instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and kneel as needed
- Lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently
- Lift and move up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to drive in various weather conditions
- Must meet AR state insurance requirements
