Job Summary
Support individuals with developmental disabilities in developing essential life skills, including health, hygiene, and independent living tasks. Foster a positive environment at home and in the community while assisting with daily routines outlined in person-centered service plans. Provide safe transportation using a personal vehicle that meets Arkansas insurance requirements, and help individuals engage in community activities such as shopping and social events. Maintain records of consumer expenses, document progress, and submit weekly documentation and timesheets. Offer input during annual service planning meetings. Complete required training in CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving, and in-service sessions. This safety-sensitive role involves lifting up to 100 lbs occasionally and working in a group home setting within Little Rock, AR.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or GED
- at least one year of relevant experience in public health, human services, or a community service agency
- two years of verifiable experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Valid Arkansas driver's license
- proof of auto liability insurance
- Background Check
- Drug Screening
- Ability to effectively interact with individuals
- Ability to understand written instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and kneel as needed
- Lift and move up to 25 lbs regularly
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently
- Lift and move up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Ability to drive in various weather conditions
- Must meet AR state insurance requirements
