Job Summary
Direct Support Professional needed to holistically support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges. Responsibilities include advocating for rights, promoting health and safety, encouraging self-advocacy, facilitating community engagement, teaching independent living skills, providing transportation, supporting personal care and daily living activities, maintaining accurate documentation, and connecting individuals with community resources. Requires compassionate, patient, and person-centered approach, strong communication, ability to foster independence, and knowledge of disability rights. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pre-employment screening
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to person-centered support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in CPR
