Job Summary
Conduct 24-hour supervision of individuals in home, community, and program settings, providing training in activities of daily living to foster independence. Administer medication per physician orders, respond to medical emergencies, and perform personal hygiene, incontinence care, and light cleaning tasks including vehicle maintenance. Assist with cooking, snow removal, and transportation while maintaining strict confidentiality and program documentation. Conduct evacuation drills, track individual progress, and participate in staff meetings. Work flexible schedules including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Licensed driver with reliable transportation
- Valid Colorado Driver's License (if current license is from out-of-state)
- Passed background check
- Passed drug and alcohol check
- Passed reference check
- Passed motor vehicle checks
- Current motor vehicle insurance
- Ability to pass Medication Administration test with no more than two attempts
- Ability to perform Lifting and Transferring techniques as trained
- Ability to lift and/or push and pull up to 100 pounds
- Ability to drive agency vehicles and personal vehicles
- Ability to regularly sit, walk, stand, climb up and down stairs
- Ability to physically restrain individuals pursuant to training
- Ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time
- Ability to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times (typing, data entry)
- Ability to communicate through speech with individuals in service and public in both quiet and noisy environments
- Ability to operate a personal computer and related software
- Ability to demonstrate specific vision abilities including close, distance, and depth perception
- Ability to read handwritten or typed material
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work and concentrate in both noisy and quiet environments
- Ability to squat, stoop, kneel, and reach above the head
- Ability to tolerate various levels of stress
- Ability to meet deadlines with severe time constraints
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from individuals, regulatory agencies, guardians, etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of administrators, managers, employees, individuals, individual's parents, etc.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to work with others, with system issues, and within designated time frames
- Patience in dealing with individuals, parents, employees, etc.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with a variety of people
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures

- Ability to maintain certifications for First Aid, CPR, crisis prevention and other courses as required
Desired Qualifications
