Job Summary
Provide high-quality, consistent support to individuals in residential or vocational programs, aligning with each person's individualized plan. Assist with daily living tasks, job skills development, community participation, and medical appointments. Administer medications and ensure program environments remain clean, safe, and welcoming. Maintain and update care plans per state requirements and provide safe transportation using agency vehicles. Move fluidly across multiple program sites based on daily needs while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Communicate proactively with management regarding individual progress and concerns. Identify and contribute to initiatives advancing care quality and long-term growth. Maintain required certifications including CPR and medication administration within the first six months.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
- At least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal vehicle
- DDS Medication Administration Certification
- CPR Certification
- Physical & Psychological Management Training (PMT)
- Human Rights and Abuse/Neglect Training
- Other DDS Mandated Annual Training
- Attendance at mandatory staff meetings
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliability, accountability, and a team-first mindset
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently when needed
- Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and computers
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors as program activities require
- Ability to be present and prepared
