Direct Support Professional - Residence Aide

Direct Support Professional – Residential Aide provides direct care, supervision, and support to residents in a residential setting, focusing on developing independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and ensuring health, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities include training residents to develop independent living skills (cooking, housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping), assisting with personal care (bathing, toileting, grooming, hygiene), supervising residents, supporting money management and budgeting, administering medications and documenting per policy, completing progress notes and habilitation plans, transporting to appointments and activities, providing mobility/community orientation training, maintaining residence cleanliness, participating in assessments and service-plan implementation, communicating with supervisors, modeling professional behavior, and adhering to safety and confidentiality policies including OPWDD Part 633 and Part 624. Requires high school diploma or GED, valid NY driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This role is based in Owego, NY with full-time schedule and variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
