Job Summary
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy for individuals with developmental disabilities. Key duties include assisting with personal care and daily living, administering medications, and supporting mobility and accessibility. You will implement behavioral support strategies, encourage community engagement, and assist with communication needs. The role requires a high school diploma, fluency in English, and a valid NY State Driver’s License for driving positions. Experience in supporting adults with intellectual or behavioral health needs is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency diploma
- Fluent in English for client communication
- Valid New York State Driver’s License with at least 2 years of driving experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs
Additional Requirements
- Comfort operating a large vehicle (for driving positions)
