Job Summary
Chart daily progress notes, ensure daily care, assist clients with prescribed medication, participate in community-focused activities, and attend doctor's appointments. Act quickly and responsibly in case of emergency. This Direct Support Professional role supports children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through residential, educational, and recreational programs in Summerville, SC. The position requires a valid South Carolina license, one year of experience caring for individuals with special needs, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Shifts run 12 hours with a rotating 4 days on, 4 days off schedule between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to read and write in English
- Valid South Carolina license, if applicable
- Ability to lift 25 lbs regularly
- Ability to lift or move 50-100 lbs occasionally (assisted)
Desired Qualifications
- One year (1) experience caring for and supporting people with special needs
