Direct Support Professional (Part-Time Weekends)

Direct Support Professional for part-time weekend shifts at Shrub Oak International School (SOIS) provides daily care, manages student programs, and supports a range of educational and residential activities. Responsibilities include managing daily care needs, acting as a liaison between departments, building trusting relationships with students, enforcing policies to promote self-advocacy and independence, completing administrative tasks (shift logs, maintenance requests, incident reports, progress tracking), de-escalating crises using SOIS protocols, and facilitating on- and off-campus programming aligned with individual goals. The role requires mentoring and supporting students, guiding programs and activities, planning and overseeing educational and daily living activities, and participating in required meetings and trainings. Candidates must meet physical demands (sitting/standing for extended periods, walking between buildings, lifting/moving up to 25 pounds) and possess strong communication and customer service skills, with a passion for working with autistic students and ensuring safety and well-being.
