Job Summary
Direct Support Professional in the Fresno area providing hands-on assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include advancing client decision-making and participation in daily activities, promoting independence while supporting meals, grooming, household tasks, and transportation as needed. Implement individualized training and support programs, maintain positive communications with clients, families, and community partners, document activities and evaluations, advocate for client preferences, address challenging behaviors per plans, supervise client activities and safety, and transport clients to appointments and community activities. Position serves multiple areas including Fresno, Clovis, Madera, and Sanger; requires travel and adherence to health and safety requirements. Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, First-Aid/CPR certification (or complete within 45 days), valid CA driver’s license, and access to a mobile device for essential tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certification in an approved First-Aid and CPR class (or successful completion within 45 days of hire)
- Insured, registered vehicle in safe working condition, and proof of current CA driver’s license
- Ability to travel within and throughout the counties in which services are provided a minimum of 75% of the time
