Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides personalized support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use needs, helping them engage in communities and achieve personal goals. Responsibilities include advocating for rights, promoting wellness, fostering self-advocacy, facilitating community participation, teaching independent living skills, providing transportation, documenting services, and connecting individuals with community resources. For Deaf/Hard of Hearing Programs, fluency in ASL is required. The role operates under supervision with adherence to established guidelines to ensure high-quality care. Location: Moon Township, PA, with in-person responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to person-centered support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines
- ASL fluency for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Programs (for these programs only)
