Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professionals work 1:1 with children who have Autism to help them reach goals in the home and community setting. Responsibilities include implementing plans as instructed by the Behavior Consultant, abiding by HIPAA policies, collecting unbiased data and submitting timely documentation, proactive communication with supervisors, maintaining reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and car insurance, and transporting consumers. Skills & attitudes emphasize maintaining professional relationships with clients, handling stressful situations gracefully, being a team player, effective communication and conflict resolution, strong organization and time management, empathy, respect for clients and their families and staff, and the ability to read and communicate digitally and on paper. Computer literacy with Microsoft applications and modern data collection systems is expected. Education and experience prerequisites include at least 100 hours with children who have Autism, with a preferred Bachelor’s Degree related to Behavior Analysis or Education and about one year of related experience.
