Job Summary
Direct Support Professional duties include providing person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings, meeting daily living needs (personal hygiene, food preparation, house cleaning), transportation or arranging transportation for community participation, monitoring health needs and medication, promoting participant rights and dignity, contributing to development and implementation of each participant's Individual Instruction and Support Plan (IISP), participating in staff meetings and training, and pursuing Nurse Assistant Registered (NAR) certification and the Nurse Delegation study course. The role requires a valid driver’s license, willingness to transport clients in the employee's vehicle, and completion of required documentation (medication logs, shift notes, progress notes, data sheets, incident reports, client financial records). Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Background check
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle
- Ability to provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience or strong interest in supporting individuals with challenging behaviors preferred
