Job Summary
Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in home and community settings by maintaining consistent engagement, fostering independence, and providing person-centered care. Deliver daily activities that encourage social connections, self-advocacy, and participation in groups aligned with personal interests. Provide transportation, assist with personal hygiene and medical needs including medication administration, and utilize Positive Support Programs to guide interactions. Create safe environments through physical support such as wheelchair transfers and gait belt use while documenting all services at shift end. Work Monday through Friday 7am-5pm or residential shifts including evenings, overnights, and weekends. Requires a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and completion of Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services and criminal background checks.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to support a person to and from a shower
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to provide medication administration
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to create safe environments
- Must be able to maintain consistent engagement with the people you are supporting
- Must be able to support people in understanding and exercising their rights
- Must be able to encourage people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacy

- Must be able to provide transportation for those you are supporting
- Must be able to provide documentation at the end of each shift
- Must be available Monday through Friday: 7am-5pm
- Must be available for Residential Hours: Evenings 3pm-10pm, Overnights 10pm-8:30am, and Days Sat/Sun 8am-3pm
