Job Summary
Provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, fostering independence through self-advocacy, social connection, and skill-building. Deliver daily assistance with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, medication administration, and transportation. Maintain consistent engagement while ensuring safe environments and providing accurate shift documentation. Utilize Positive Support Programs to guide interactions and encourage participation in community activities. Vocational hours run Monday through Friday from 7am to 5pm; residential shifts cover evenings, overnight stays, and weekends. This physically demanding role requires a reliable vehicle and includes potential responsibilities for intervening in aggressive situations. Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Reliable vehicle
- Nebraska Child/Adult Protective Services Central Registry check
- Criminal background check
- Must be able to lift individuals to and from wheelchairs
- Must be able to intervene in aggressive situations
- Must be able to support a person to and from a shower
- Must be able to use a gait belt in a safe and dignified way
- Must be able to provide transportation for the people we support
- Must be able to provide medication administration
- Must be able to provide accurate documentation
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to create safe environments
- Must be able to maintain consistent engagement with the people you are supporting
- Must be able to support people in understanding and exercising their rights
- Must be able to encourage people to live a fulfilling life as independently as possible through self-advocacy
- Must be able to provide the best person-centered supports to meet people's needs throughout their lives

- Must be able to utilize Positive Support Programs to guide daily interactions
- Must be able to support a person with personal hygiene and medical-related needs
- Must be able to provide documentation at the end of each shift
- Must be available Monday through Friday: 7am-5pm
- Must be available for Residential Hours: Evenings 3pm-10pm, Overnights 10pm-8:30am, and Days Sat/Sun 8am-3pm
