Job Summary
Deliver direct support in residential or periodic programs, assisting 4–6 individuals with personal care, housekeeping, recreation, transportation, and community integration. Administer medications, monitor health, prepare meals, and accompany individuals to medical appointments as needed. Document progress, maintain confidentiality, and report incidents or safety hazards per policy. Manage individual assets within budget and ensure workplace safety through hazard reporting and minor repairs. Maintain a valid driver's license for community transportation and attend required training and staff meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Car registration and vehicle insurance if providing transportation for individuals receiving services
- All state-required training(s) and certification(s) completed in mandated timeframes
- Maintain valid driver's license, meet all insurance requirements, and be approved by management to be a driver for the company
- At minimum, a High School Diploma/Equivalent
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing in The State of New Jersey
- Must have a valid driver's license in good standing for the state in which they live
- Employees must cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
- Must submit to drug testing prior to employment
- All employees shall submit to drug testing randomly and for cause/suspicion
- Employees must submit to criminal background checks
- Be determined not to be disqualified by the Department of Human Services
- Have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities
- Complete an application to have their name checked against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI)
- Successfully complete and demonstrate proficiency in all areas of required trainings
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of experience in human services preferred
- Working knowledge of computers
