Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) role providing personalized support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges. Responsibilities include advocating for human, legal, and civil rights; promoting health and safety; encouraging self-advocacy; facilitating community engagement; teaching independent living skills; providing transportation; maintaining documentation; and connecting individuals with community resources to support career development and independent living.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Pre-employment screening
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to person-centered support
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines
