Job Summary
Direct Support Professional provides self-care training and therapeutic support to residents of an ICF/IID facility under supervision, assisting with daily living activities, assisting clients in bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and community activities, documenting shifts and goals, and ensuring safety and adherence to individualized plans. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team, and compliance with training, background checks, and health/safety requirements. A Louisiana driver’s license, CPR certification, and preferred CNA are noted, with emphasis on documentation, goal tracking, and collaboration with DSP leads, Case Manager, and program staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED (education requirement)
- Current Louisiana Driver’s License
- Current Automotive Insurance Coverage
- Current CPR certification
- Attendance at Mandatory Training & In-Services
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to pass pre-employment physical
- Maintains a professional appearance

- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid, unencumbered Louisiana Driver’s License
- Acceptable Driver’s Motor Vehicle Record required
