Job Summary
Direct Support ProfessionalMonday through Friday (8am–2pm) in Yonkers, NY. Provides safe, structured, therapeutic living environment for children in care; delivers close supervision, counseling, and support during cottage activities; plans and implements individual and group initiatives to build skills and self-esteem; ensures basic needs are met and cottages are clean and orderly. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team and uses Sanctuary, trauma-sensitive care, and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention to prevent crises, guide treatment, and support transitions between activities. Key duties include supervising residents, coordinating appointments (psychiatry, medical), maintaining paperwork, enacting program schedules, and facilitating transitions with an emphasis on safety and teamwork.
