Job Summary
Advocate for individuals' human, legal, and civil rights while promoting health and safety through wellness initiatives and accident prevention. Facilitate community engagement by accompanying individuals to work, recreational activities, and social events, and teach independent living skills including household management and personal care. Provide transportation for appointments and errands, assist with personal care tasks such as hygiene and bathing, and maintain accurate documentation of provided services. Support informed decision-making regarding living arrangements and employment, and administer medication in accordance with state laws.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must meet all pre-employment screening
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally pull at least 40 lbs.
- Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level
- Must be able to talk and hear
- Must be able to provide transportation for appointments, errands, and community activities
- Must be able to assist with medication administration in accordance with state laws and regulations
- Must be able to maintain accurate documentation of provided services and support
- Must be able to maintain accurate records and follow regulatory guidelines
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of disability rights, self-advocacy, and community integration principles
