Job Summary
Provide supervision, support, and training to individuals with differing abilities in day program settings, including direct supervision, personal care, medication dispensing, and behavioral interventions. Develop person-centered activities that promote social skills and positive outcomes while maintaining medical, social, and programmatic files with detailed progress documentation. Supply transportation for service participants in accordance with safe-driving policies and ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all individuals per their service plans. Create and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, co-workers, and community representatives. This role involves M-F 7:30-3:30pm shifts in Branford and Westbrook, with a pay rate of $19.50/hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be over 18
- Valid CT driver's license
- Acceptable driving history
- Own vehicle for Lumibility business
- Must be able to sit, stand and walk at an assigned location(s) and work for extended periods of time
- Must be able to bend/stoop, kneel and balance frequently
- Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder level
- Must be able to push/pull, squat and crouch occasionally
- Must be able to lift, carry and position individuals of various weight with assistance
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Must be able to drive multi-passenger vehicles for extended periods throughout the day
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field
- Knowledge of learning and behavioral processes
- Knowledge of person-centered, outcome-based services for people with differing abilities
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards
- Knowledge of community resources
- Skill in implementing programs & activities as outlined in the individual support plan
- Ability to effectively write and communicate in a courteous and professional manner
- Ability to attend to the physical and personal needs of adults with differing abilities
- Ability to problem-solve effectively
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to use adaptive and other equipment
