Job Summary
Lead Direct Support Professional role supporting the Care Team Manager with day-to-day operation of the home, modeling professional conduct and ensuring high-quality, person-centered care for Individuals. Responsibilities include adherence to policies and procedures, implementing and monitoring behavior plans, facilitating activities to help Individuals meet goals, providing a safe, confidential and respectful environment, coordinating transportation and documentation, administering medications as needed, supervising laundry and meal preparation, supporting bedroom cleanliness, maintaining accurate records (progress notes, incident reports, logs, inventories), and liaising with regulatory bodies during inspections. Requires collaboration within an interdisciplinary team, strong communication skills, proficiency with computers/software, ability to multitask, and a commitment to Beacon’s core values and HIPAA/privacy standards. Education requirement is High School diploma or GED; 3 years’ experience with persons with disabilities/high-acuity or intense behaviors; 18+; background check; valid driver’s license; English proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 years of work experience working directly with persons with disabilities, high acuity or with intense behaviors
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must pass criminal background check
- Must possess a valid Driver’s License
- Proficient in speaking, reading and writing the English language
- Approved by state, federal and government entities to work within BSLS programs
- Ability to use office equipment, including BSLS information technology systems
- Ability to physically and emotionally work with individuals who possess mental illness and co- occurring disorders
