Job Summary
Assist individuals with autism spectrum disorder during day programs in accordance with established treatment plans, ensuring their health, safety, and emotional well-being. Uphold the NADSP Code of Ethics and safeguard the confidentiality of individuals and their families while promoting work readiness skills like computer literacy and professional communication. Build relationships and support self-directed lives through recreational outings and volunteer training opportunities, honoring each person's culture, preferences, and strengths. Participate in annual evaluations and maintain required certifications while adhering to all company policies. Complete required orientation and attend daily with punctuality. This 12-week unpaid internship offers 15–21 hours weekly as part of the Achieve Program, which integrates participants into the community through person-centered services.
Required Qualifications
- Maintain all required certifications
- Commitment to company values and adherence to policies
- Commitment to person centered supports and honor the personality, preferences, culture and strengths of the individuals
- Work in partnership with others to support all individuals to lead self-directed lives
- Punctuality and regular attendance
- Complete required QSAC orientation
- Uphold the standards set by the NADSP Code of Ethics
- Safeguard and respect the confidentiality of the individuals and their families
- Ensure health, safety & welfare of individuals
- Promote and protect the health, safety and emotional well-being of the individuals
- Ensure that people exercise their rights and that rights are not unnecessarily restricted
- Ensure people are treated with dignity and respect
- Participate in annual and required evaluation process
- Assist the individuals to develop and maintain relationships
- Help individuals build work readiness skills, such as but not limited to, computer literacy, professional behavior and communication skills
- Implement and adhere to established treatment plans
