Job Summary
Direct Support Professional II provides observation, evaluation, and reporting to help individuals achieve treatment/habilitation goals; guides and teaches skills for independent living; may lead in areas such as Personal Care, Mealtime, and Maintaining the Environment; administers medications and health-related procedures, assists with daily living tasks, accompanies to appointments, supports community integration, and documents progress within habilitation plans; requires AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid certifications (or ability to obtain within six months); valid NY driver’s license may be required; must hold a high school diploma or GED (or DSP certificate) and deliver direct services to adults with developmental disabilities; part-time scheduling including weekends. Also emphasizes safety, confidentiality, reporting incidents, and collaboration with the program planning team.
