Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) I is responsible for providing observations, evaluations, and reports on individuals' progress toward treatment goals. Duties include personal care, administering medications, assisting with meals, maintaining a clean environment, and supporting individual development and community integration. Knowledge of OPWDD policies and active treatment programs is essential. The position requires AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid certifications either at the time of hiring or within six months of employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to provide direct services to adults with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely.
Desired Qualifications
- Direct Care experience with people with mental and/or physical disabilities.
- AMAP certification
- SCIP-R certification
- CPR/SFA certification
Additional Requirements
- Current clean New York State driver's license might be required depending on the shift.
