Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional supports individuals with developmental disabilities by promoting their health, safety, and quality of life. Key responsibilities include preparing daily routines, assisting with personal care, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring clients engage socially and attend recreational activities. Candidates should have a high school diploma, one year of caregiving experience, and must be at least 21 years old. Training in CPR and First Aid is preferred or must be obtained shortly after employment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have at least 1 year of professional or personal experience in caregiving
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must have a California Driver’s License
- Candidates must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including background check
Desired Qualifications
- Direct Support Professional Certificate Year 1 & Year 2
- Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- First Aid / CPR
