Job Summary
Direct Support Professional responsible for helping people with disabilities reach personal and work goals, fostering independence, and building community connections. Responsibilities include goal setting, creating and leading activities, teaching participants about community resources, transporting participants to appointments and events, coordinating with families and partners, recording progress, ensuring safety, and maintaining professional relationships. Requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred); training will be provided; CPR/First Aid and Medication Management certifications must be obtained within 6 months. Location-based duties at Oelwein, IA and Oelwein Mission Office, IA with flexible full-time/part-time scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Willingness to earn CPR/First Aid and Medication Management certifications within 6 months
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and insurance
- Good speaking and writing skills
