Job Summary
Direct Support Professional (DSP) providing person-centered support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, personal hygiene, household tasks, meal preparation, nutrition, medication administration, and safe transportation of consumers. Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, required training, and quality improvement activities; maintain confidentiality; provide crisis intervention using approved techniques; support community engagement and cross-site coverage when needed. Multiple full-time and part-time shifts available in Glenside, PA. Requires High School Diploma (or GED) and a Pennsylvania driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or GED)
- Current PA Driver's License; satisfactory driving record; eligible to operate program vehicles
- Six months of related experience in an IDD Residential facility or related environment
- Able to maintain confidentiality and privacy of all consumer records and information
- Able to acquire working knowledge of COMHAR policies and other applicable regulations
- Attention to details to ensure safety for residents and for safely operating program vehicles
- Able to work well with individuals with varying emotional and cognitive challenges
- Able to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Able to complete assignments in a timely manner while adhering to COMHAR procedures
