Job Summary
Direct Support Professional providing 1:1 in-home support and 2:1 community support to an adult male with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include promoting independence, community involvement, and meaningful daily experiences, while responding to challenging situations and implementing approved behavioral intervention holds when necessary. Requires experience with individuals with special needs and non-verbal individuals, plus ability to handle self-injurious behaviors. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Schedule includes 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (two days/week), 9:30 AM–5:30 PM (three days/week), and every other weekend. Compensation ranges at IHCS rates ($25.10/hour without degree/certification; $32.12/hour with degree or certification). Eligible applicants may pursue NADD Certification if interested.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supporting individuals with special needs is required
- Experience working with non-verbal individuals is highly preferred
- Experience responding to self-injurious behaviors and implementing support strategies is required
- Must be comfortable performing approved behavioral intervention holds when necessary and appropriately trained
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
