Job Summary
Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assisting with daily routines such as cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene. Monitor health needs and report concerns immediately while driving individuals to medical appointments and community activities. Facilitate learning of independent skills and build support networks through relationships with community members and families. Ensure accurate program documentation and billable records are completed. Cooperate with license and department staff during inspections or investigations. Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required. Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports
- Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
