Job Summary
Direct Support Professional will provide supervision, care, and activities for individuals with disabilities in the home and community. Responsibilities include assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), ensuring health and safety, transporting individuals to appointments, and implementing support plans. This is a safety-sensitive role that requires documentation of activities and progress, opportunities for community integration, and maintaining data per electronic visits verification requirements. Tasks include programming and training for functional skills, meal preparation and kitchen duties, medical observations and support with medications after training, personal care (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, eating), and transporting individuals as needed. The role also involves communication with families and supervisors, participation in mandatory training, attending staff meetings, and performing other duties as assigned. Skills required include documentation, organization, conflict resolution, collaboration, problem solving, strong communication (verbal and written), initiative, professionalism, lifting, and a positive demeanor, with emphasis on safety and quality of care.
