Job Summary
Carry out behavioral treatment plans and collect direct observational data while assisting with daily living activities like personal hygiene, meal preparation, and money management. Provide personal care and supervision, teaching daily living and functional skills to help individuals achieve personal goals and transition to less restrictive settings. Accompany individuals to healthcare appointments and community outings, resolving problem behavior situations using approved crisis techniques. Complete required paperwork, maintain effective communication with residents and family members, and work flexible shifts including at least two weekend days. Hold a valid driver's license with one year of experience and possess minimum six months of related work experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License in the candidates' legal name and current address. One year minimum driving experience. License should be in good standing and free of restrictions
- Minimum of six months related work experience OR Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a degree program in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Must work at least 40 hours/month including 2 weekend day shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Aspiration to work with autistic, intellectually and developmentally challenged individuals
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
